Maryanne draws inspiration from the colour and beauty of life. From the desire to live life like an illustrated adventure, she creates female characters that bring happiness, colour and playfulness to life, Maryanne makes art that inspires the desire to love life and follow your dreams …without fear, remaining positive, always being brave and never accepting the ordinary.

Karl’s practice stems from a long history with street arts formal properties. Currently completing a BFA, a questioning of the conceptual underpinnings in visual culture has ensued. Relations between colour, image and language, demonstrate how subjective the perception of information is. Different colours of house paint need a name to be sold. From a limited vocabulary of colours, small narratives are created. These words are put in a search engine to generate an image, and juxtaposed with their corresponding colour. Today it seems there’s an answer for everything, with the ability to almost not have to think, but just who or what is creating our visual culture?
James Abbot McNeill Whistler (1838 - 1903); Nocturne in Black and Gold: The Falling Rocket (1874).
